KT's Alaska Cruise 2010 Photos

Sunday, August 1:

We boarded a bus (which Mom had a great deal of trouble climbing into; I had to shoulder her up the stairs) to the pier, checked in with Holland America, and boarded the ship. Sadly, Mom found that the cabin she and Bobbi were in was much too small to use her walker in, and she couldn't get comfortable in any of the furniture.

Sights from the observation deck of the Oosterdam: The Space Needle, downtown Seattle, the Smith Tower.

Eventually the ship set sail and headed up the coast. This may have been Vancouver Island, but I can't say.

Monday, August 2:

The day was spent at sea, because it was a long way up to Alaska. I met Uncle Dave at breakfast.

Sis (that's her name; she's not my sister) and Aunt Judy joined us.

The sea was rather rough, which caused problems for Mom; she couldn't sleep in bed, because she was afraid she'd fall out!

That evening at dinner, it was formal night. I hadn't brought any formal clothes, so I went up and ate in the lido restaurant. Everybody else went formal in the dining room and had their picture taken.
