Sunday: New Year's Eve

"Arrogant Bastard Ale"?! Yes! It's a local brew that Fu found and just had to have, if only for the marketing campaign! The front of the bottle looks sort of like this:

Fig. 4

And the back looks like this:

ar·ro·gance (ar'o gans) n. The act or quality of being arrogant; undue assumption; overbearing conceit; haughty.

Arrogant Bastard Ale: This is an aggressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. We would suggest that you stick to safer and more familiar territory -- maybe something with a multi-million dollar ad campaign aimed at convincing you it's made in a little brewery, or one that implies that their tasteless fizzy yellow beer will give you more sex appeal. Perhaps you think multi-million dollar ad campaigns make a beer taste better. Perhaps you're mouthing your words as you read this.

The Brewery: Located in North County San Diego, we are a small, honest microbrewery that concentrates on creating the freshest and most satisfying ales imaginable by using only the finest natural ingredients. We take great pride and care in creating our beers, performing virtually every step of our brewing process by hand. It takes a little longer, but unless you simply don't know any better, you'll agree the arrival of the black sheep in our family -- Arrogant Bastard Ale -- has been worth the wait.

Ingredients: Nothing but the finest Barley, most aggressive Hops, clearest Water, our proprietary Yeast strain and abundant Arrogance.

Questions or comments? If you don't like this beer, keep it to yourself -- we don't want to hear from any sniveling yellow-beer-drinkin' wimps, 'cause this beer wasn't made for you.

Oh yes, and in a little box on the side it says, "Keep Refrigerated Numbskull!!"
So what does this ale taste like? Mr. Fu says, "A little bitter, but what a wicked buzz."
